Coming Soon: SpinCycle and The Yoga Studio

This spring, Carmel City Center will celebrate the opening of two great workout concepts, SpinCycle and The Yoga Studio.

Spin Cycle logoSpinCycle is a revolutionary new cycling studio offering a full mind/body workout. It combines heart pumping cardio, upper body and core strengthening hybrid classes with a mind blowing dose of inspiration! Its unique blend of high-energy-inspirational instruction, adrenalin-pumping music and the implementation of weight resistance during your ride creates the SpinCycle experience. Owner Cathy Miller is excited to bring the concept of mind/body spinning classes to Indiana with her own unique twist.

“Many people have the perception that spinning is either intimidating or boring—SpinCycle is neither of those. It brings together two of my favorite disciplines, spinning and yoga, taught by the very best instructors in the area,” said Cathy.

The Yoga Studio features a dynamic, challenging style of yoga that will help you lead a happier, healthier and more productive life. Combining the ancient yoga traditions with breathing, moving and meditation brings a new awareness and awakens you to a deeper connection to yourself and others. In every class, you experience strength, endurance training and flexibility. Classes offered include Vinyasa, Slow Flow, Power Yoga, Short Form Ashtanga and Yin Yoga. The Yoga Studio also offers specialty restorative classes that mix yoga with Thai body work. All classes are either hot or heated. In addition to their signature classes, private instruction will also be available, which allows the teacher to customize a practice for people with injuries, limitations, or those new to the practice.

“The Yoga Studio will inspire you to live your yoga all day, every day—both on and off the mat. Each practice provides an opportunity to rejuvenate and celebrate a new way of being,” said Karen Fox, owner of The Yoga Studio.

SpinCycle and The Yoga Studio will both be located at 736 Hanover Place, Suite 113 on the first floor of the Drewry Simmons Vornehm building on the interior of Carmel City Center.

“From day one The Bike Line has been a Trek dealer. Trek is the best at standing behind their products, we honor that because we stand behind out customers one hundred percent,” said Bill Revard.

Beginning in 1976, Trek bicycles have become one of the biggest bicycle manufacturers in the world. They solely believe in their bikes and they way their bikes are manufactored is to make sure the world is becoming a better place. Being the first manufacturer in Wisconsin to switch entirely to renewable electric power, Trek practices their actions to be sure that their company and employees reflect their better-world goals.

The Bike Line offers year-round group rides on Thursday nights and, in the off-season, yoga classes on Monday nights and power-based cycling classes on other weeknights, all of which will continue at the new store in Carmel City Center. They are also active in the Carmel community by participating in Tour de Carmel and other charity ride events.

Bike Line Grand Opening Sale Event

What started as a leisure bike ride around the block soon began a family obsession for the Revard family. That obsession shortly turned into the family business that is now known as, The Bike Line. Opening over 30 years ago, The Bike Line is very excited to be opening its doors in Carmel City Center to join the synergies among the other businesses. It presents a new type of opportunity for retail, restaurant and small businesses that has appeal for its customers. In honoring their opening and in perfect timing for the month of May, National Bike Month, The Bike Line is having a Grand Opening storewide sale starting today, Wednesday, May 16th and will go on through the weekend until Monday, May 21st . The sale includes Trek bicycles and will feature bicycle test-rides on the beautiful Camel City Center Plaza.

With the City of Carmel celebrating National Bike Month by joining in on National Bike to Work day Friday, May 16th, The Bike Line’s Grand Opening Sale Event is a perfect fit for beginner and advanced cyclists to make sure they will have all their bicycling needs for the warm months to come.

The Bike Line specializes in Trek Bicycles, of Waterloo, Wisconsin and takes pride in featuring the best selection of Trek bikes in the area. They are also the largest dealer of Zipp wheels, a premium brand of wheels raced all over the world by top professionals, in Indiana.

New stores coming to the Carmel City Center!

Carmel City Center is excited to announce that two new shops will be joining the project in the spring! Jack & Jill Children’s Shoppe and The Bike Line will each be adding each of their own flair to the unique and independently-owned array of restaurants and retailers at the Center.

Jack & Jill Children’s Shoppe began out of Carol Montgomery’s frustration of not being able to find cute or unique clothes for her grandchildren. She teamed up with her daughter, Beth, in 2005 and opened the first location in Frankfort. Jack & Jill Children’s Shoppe carries a broad range of children’s apparel as well as accessories. Some of the lines include CachCach, Dogwood, Lemon Loves Lime, Mud Pie, Zaza Couture, Kate Mack, Little Mass and Hartstrings, just to name a few.

“We take pride in offering high quality products at Jack & Jill. I do all my own buying and if it’s not something I would own personally, I won’t have it in my store. I’m just as concerned about product quality as the customer” said owner, Carol Montgomery.

The Bike Line began with Tom Revard taking his kids bikes out for a “quick spin” around the block. That spin lasted a couple of hours and began a family obsession that got the entire family of eight involved in cycling. Tom and his wife, Nancy, opened the family business, The Bike Line, in 1979. Today The Bike Line is owned by Charlie, Bill and Jimmy Revard and specializes in Trek Bicycles, of Waterloo, Wisconsin. The Bike Line takes great pride in featuring the best selection of Trek bikes in the area and is the largest dealer of Zipp wheels, a premium brand of wheels raced all over the world by top professionals, in Indiana.

The Bike Line is excited to move to Carmel City Center because of the synergies among the other businesses. It presents a new type of opportunity for retail, restaurant and small businesses that has appeal for its customers.

According to Jimmy, “The other retailers and restaurants at Carmel City Center have the same commitment to customer service that we do. We already shop and dine there and our customers do, too!”

We’ll keep you updated on the openings of these two stores here at the Carmel City Center!

Taking the Next Step

Its prime location, next to the Monon Greenway and the Center for the Performing Arts, is just one of the outstanding features of Carmel City Center. However, many health enthusiasts are also drawn to the state-of-the-art equipment in the fitness area and training rooms of the Residences at Carmel City Center.

The fitness facility at the Residences at Carmel City Center

Some may not know that this equipment is not just available to residents of the apartments. Others can have access to these areas by working out with one of the trainers from The Next Step Fitness, which operates out of the training rooms in the Clubhouse of the Residences at Carmel City Center.

The Next Step Fitness fills a unique niche compared to other physical training businesses in that it seeks to fill the gap between physical therapy and personal training. The trainers at the Next Step Fitness all have degrees in exercise science and kinesiology. They are qualified to help ease your aches and pains with rehabilitative touch as well as offer personal training to help you to achieve your fitness goals.

Owner Jeff Sidwell said he plans to take full advantage of his location in Carmel City Center to offer outdoor group classes with a view of the Palladium and running clubs on the Monon Greenway.
